15 May 2025 - Mental health affects how we feel, think, and cope with daily life. If you’ve ever felt stressed, overwhelmed, or unsure about what you're going through, know that you're not alone. A new tool has been launched to support you.
U-Report Zambia has activated an updated Mental Health Chatbot for World Mental Health Action Day. Whether you need guidance on stress, relationships, emotions, or accurate information about substance use, this chatbot offers support. It’s free, confidential, and accessible via WhatsApp or SMS.
Why This Matters
Mental health concerns are rising among young people in Zambia. According to the Ministry of Health, the number of adolescents treated for depression increased from 704 in 2022 to 858 in 2024. While more young people are seeking help, it also highlights the urgent need for accessible, stigma-free mental health resources.
